JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary

Supervises and directs employees performing activities at compressor station and/or storage facility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct employees performing activities at compressor station and/or storage facility including but not limited to:

  • Operating and maintaining compressors, engines, dehydrators, electric generators, and peripheral storage equipment

  • Maintaining storage and water injection wells

  • Monitoring gas pressures and operation of compressors, engines, and other equipment

  • Gauging tanks

  • Changing charts

  • Blowing drips

  • Maintaining yard security

  • Performing general housekeeping (lawn care, building maintenance, sweeping, cleaning, painting, etc.)

  • Coordinate compressor or gas storage operations, pressures, and flow rates with gas control section employees

  • Inspect, evaluate, and determine whether to repair or replace plant equipment

  • Schedule and conduct safety and training sessions for employees

  • Provide information and assistance to employees, customers, government agencies, and others relative to company gas storage activities, policies, and procedures

  • Compile, prepare, and/or verify information including but not limited to:

  • Regulatory requirements, codes and standards

  • Equipment maintenance and repair schedules

  • Work schedules

  • Equipment operation and performance logs

  • Completion reports

  • Employee documentation

  • Capital and O&M Budgets

Education

  • None Required.

Work Experience

  • Experience with and thorough knowledge of compressor station operations and/or underground storage operation and maintenance activities.

  • Experience evaluating, maintaining, or adjusting pipeline pressures.

  • Advanced mechanical experience related to repair and maintenance of compressor station and storage facility equipment.

  • Experience and knowledge with computer and relevant software applications.

  • Experience evaluating, developing, and implementing equipment maintenance and work schedules.

  • Experience inspecting, evaluating, and making recommendations on equipment repair or replacement.

  • Experience and training related to: ­ Gas system pipelines and regulators, ­ gas injection and withdrawal, company/governmental operating, safety and environmental procedures, characteristics of natural gas, management and supervisory skills, and engine and compressor operation and maintenance.

  • Experience interacting, guiding, assisting, and communicating effectively.

  • Experience training, directing, and/or supervising; knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.

  • Experience compiling and preparing reports, schedules, and correspondence.

  • Experience reading and interpreting manuals, reports, job orders, charts, logs, gauges, blueprints, maps, and correspondence.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: and experience with computer and relevant software applications

  • Ability to: assist employees in performance of routine and/or emergency activities such as equipment maintenance, repair, replacement, and operation

  • Ability to: operate tools and/or equipment required
